Book Review: Inherit the Wind by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Lee

I figured that there was no better way to kick off the proceedings than with a good old fashioned book review. Inherit the Wind is one of the better books I’ve read. It offers a brief glimpse into American history- into a time when religion ruled. The way it is written (in the form of a play) adds to the drama.

Basically, a man is arrested for teaching Darwin’s theory of evolution to his class. This causes a huge uproar amongst the community, and he is put on trial.

I won’t reveal the outcome, but it’s safe to say that it is definitely worth a read. It was captivating, and the stand off between the lawyers was truly a spectacle to behold.
